AHS Medical Student Scholarship Opportunity to attend the 2026 Scottsdale Headache Symposium
The American Headache Society is pleased to announce a new Medical Student Scholarship opportunity to attend the 2026 Scottsdale Headache Symposium, taking place December 3–6, 2026, in Scottsdale, Arizona. This scholarship is designed to support medical students with a demonstrated interest in headache medicine, neuroscience, neurology, or related fields, and to encourage the next generation of clinicians, educators, advocates, and researchers to engage with the headache medicine community.
Recipients will receive complimentary meeting registration, a stipend up to $800 for reimbursement of eligible travel expenses, as noted on the recipient acceptance letter, and a one-year AHS Trainee membership (or a one-year extension of an existing Trainee membership).
Criteria for selection are based on:
- A demonstrated interest in headache medicine, neuroscience, neurology, pain medicine or related fields
- Potential for future contributions to the field of headache medicine
- Strength and quality of application materials
- Promotion of participation from students representing a broad range of geographic locations, backgrounds, and experiences.
Applicant must:
- Be a medical student enrolled in an accredited MD or DO granting medical school in the United States (including Puerto Rico) in any year of training
- Be in good academic standing
- Be able to attend the full Symposium in person
- Demonstrate interest in headache medicine or related clinical, educational, advocacy or research activities
Recipient requirements:
- Must attend the entirety of the Symposium
- Participate in a special Medical Student Scholarship Meet and Greet and other designated networking events at the Symposium.
- Must be present at the session where they will be formally recognized (date and time TBD)
*Please note, failure to attend in person will result in forfeiture of your scholarship award. If an unforeseen circumstance arises that prevents you from attending the meeting after you have received a Medical Student Scholarship, we invite you to apply for the next opportunity available, even if it is within 2 years of having received the forfeited award.
